Obituary for Lee S. Adam

Lee S. Adam, 87, of Perry Twp., passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Mary A. (Sproesser) Adam. They were married on October 1, 1949 and celebrated sixty-five years of marriage.
Born in Greenwich Twp., he was the son of the late Lawrence and Minnie (Bower) Adam. Lee was a U.S. Army veteran. He first worked as a full-fashion knitter. In 1960, Lee went into the bar and restaurant business for twenty years until his retirement. He was a member of the Hamburg Lions Club, Sunnyside Rod and Gun Club; and various local fish and game associations. Lee was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He traveled extensively on hunting trips and was working on his third Grand Slam.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons: Kerry L., husband of Elizabeth A. (Bowman) Adam, Pottsville; Dean A., husband of Rosanne R. (Hummel) Adam, Perry Twp.; and Jamie L., husband of Rebecca (Carreon) Adam, Hermitage, PA; seven grandchildren: April (Adam) Edmunds-Krumanocker, wife of Dean Krumanocker; Angela (Adam), wife of Matthew Folk; Corey Adam; and Benjamin, Nathan, Caleb, and Evan Adam; three great-grandchildren: Cassandra and Zachery Edmunds; and Collin Folk; two step-great-granddaughters: Kate and Krista Krumanocker; and one step-great-great-granddaughter: Payton. Lee is also survived by one sister: LaJoyce (Adam), wife of Andrew Shrom, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by one brother: Kenneth Adam, husband of Betty Adam, Breinigsville.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 7:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 pm on Friday.
