Obituary for Allen D. Adam

Allen D.  Adam
Allen D. Adam, 78, of Perry Twp., died Sunday, October 11, 2015 in his residence.
Born in Perry Twp., he was the son of the late Milton D. and Sally R. (Miller) Adam. He graduated from Perry High School in 1955. Allen was a member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville. He worked as a steel worker for Carpenter Technology for 30 years retiring in 1997. After retiring he was the caretake for Esther Ludwig for many years. Allen was a member of Vaux Lodge No. 406 F & A.M. Hamburg, Pikeville Gun Club, and Perry Township Game Association. He was an avid hunter, and fisherman. He loved the outdoors, animals, and especially his family.
Allen is survived by two daughters: Robin L. (Adam) wife of John A. Kline, Grantville; and Sally J. (Adam) wife of Jeffrey N. James, Perry Twp. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Bradley, Jaime, Tyler, Ryan, and Chad; and 9 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Allen is also survived by two sisters: Edith (Adam) Geschwindt, and Sarah (Adam) Krick. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. Friday. A Masonic Service will be held at 10:45 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Luke's Church, 5th and Franklin Street Shoemakersville, PA 19555.
