Obituary for Arlene R. Adam (Williams)

Arlene R. Adam, 95, formerly of Windsor Twp., passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 in Hearthstone at Maidencreek where she resided for five years. She was the wife of Lester A. Adam, who died March 13, 1997.
Born in Maxatawny Twp., she was the daughter of the late Fred, Sr., and Elda Mae (Heffner) Williams. Arlene was self-employed on the family farm from 1943 until 1977. She was a member of St. Paul's (Smoke) Lutheran Church, Windsor Twp., where she was a member, past president and past vice-president of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, former Sunday School assistant superintendent, flower chairperson; and treasurer of the Adult Class for many years. Arlene was a member of the Virginville Grange since 1955.
Arlene is survived by one sister: Mabel K. (Williams), wife of Lloyd J. Seaman, Hamburg; two brothers: Eugene D. Williams, Reading; and Fred Williams, Jr., Hamburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother: Arthur Williams; and one sister: Alice E. (Williams) Lobb.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from St. Paul's (Smoke) Lutheran Church, 2613 Old 22, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in St. Paul's (Smoke) Cemetery, Windsor Twp. A viewing will be held in the church on Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00 am. It is by Arlene's request that those attending her service not wear black. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Paul's (Smoke) Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, at the above address. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
