Obituary for Gladys A. Arndt (Shollenberger)

Gladys A. Arndt, 89, of Muhlenberg Twp., and formerly of Hamburg and Delaware, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in Columbia Cottage, Wyomissing. She was the wife of Myron I. Arndt, who died March 1, 2007.
Born in Hamburg, she was the daughter of the late Arlan and Lala (Bailey) Shollenberger. Gladys worked for Burkey's Underwear Company, Hamburg; and also worked part-time at the Perry Golf Course. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Reading. Gladys enjoyed crocheting, baking and going golfing.
Gladys is survived by one son: Myron I. Arndt, Jr., and his wife Marilyn, Mohrsville; four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister: Mae A. (Shollenberger), wife of Richard Kunkel, Kempton; and two brothers: Donald Shollenberger, Phoenixville; and Leroy Shollenberger, and his wife Arlene, Bernville. She was predeceased by two daughters: Sandra A. (Arndt) Eyer, died March 5, 2000; and Susan M. (Arndt) Dreibelbis, died December 25, 2016; and one brother: David Shollenberger.
Services will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Monday 1:00 to 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Caring Hospice Services, 400 Commerce Drive, Suite C, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
