Obituary for Patricia L. Stambaugh (Wilhelm)

Patricia L. Stambaugh, 77, of Strausstown, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in Phoebe Berks, Wernersville. She was the wife of Harvey C. Stambaugh. They were married on October 1, 1955 and celebrated sixty years of marriage.
Born in Bethel Twp., she was the daughter of the late Thomas R. and Pauline M. (Keener) Wilhelm. She worked for the United States Postal Service for twenty years, serving as postmaster of the Strausstown Post Office for fifteen years. She was an active member of Zion Blue Mountain United Church of Christ, Strausstown for seventy-two years. Patricia was a Sunday School teacher, member of Consistory, and played piano at church. She was a member of the Women's Club of Strausstown; Red Hat Society, Order of Eastern Star and Martha's Circle. Patricia loved her family. She enjoyed volunteering and was very community oriented.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters: Sharon K. (Stambaugh), wife of Mike George, Robesonia; Julie M. (Stambaugh), wife of Jeff Newhouse, Bethel; and Amy J. (Stambaugh) Shanaman, Strausstown; six grandchildren: Whitney George Rose, Dru George, Justin, Joel and Jenna Horning, and Bree Shanaman; and four great-grandsons. Patricia was predeceased by a daughter: Kim Y. (Stambaugh) Seyfert, who died in October 1988; and one brother: Donald D. Wilhelm.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Zion Blue Mountain United Church of Christ, 6573 Old Route 22, Strausstown. Burial will follow in Strausstown Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church Tuesday 9:30 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Zion Blue Mountain United Church of Christ, c/o Patricia L.
