Helen R.  Faller (Degler)
Helen R. Faller, 87, of Bern Twp., passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Frederick C. Faller, who died March 22, 2010.
Born in West Leesport, she was the daughter of the late George Degler and Mary A. (Kerns) Noll. She was a graduate of Reading High School. Helen worked at Berks Career and Technology Center as a custodian, bus aide and in the kitchen. She was a very active member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, and was an original member of the soup kitchen staff, volunteering for many years. Helen was also a member of the Blue Mountain Senior Citizens, Shartlesville. She was involved with the Pennsylvania and Michigan LST associations. Helen enjoyed deer watching, travel, flowers, crocheting and cooking.
Helen is survived by her five children: Rosemary H. (Faller), wife of Charles S. Mowery, Kenhorst; Patrica L. (Faller), wife of Peter M. Miller, Shillington; Carl F. Faller, Atlanta, Georgia; Timothy C. Faller, Silver Spring, Maryland; and Phyllis E. (Faller), wife of Thomas J. Heffner, Leesport; and her five grandchildren: Stashik S. Miller; Jasmin R.E. Miller; Matthew F. Faller; Luke S. Faller; and William H. Faller. She is also survived by two sisters: Janet Drebushenko and Hope Seidel. Helen was predeceased by two brothers: Leon Degler, Sr.; and Harry Zellers.
Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am from Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 102 Apple Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Epler's Cemetery, Bern Twp. A viewing will be held in the church Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be sent to Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, P.O. Box 221, Leesport, PA 19533.
