Doris M  Brendel (Yeager)
Doris M. Brendel, 81, of Hamburg, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp.
Born in Hamburg, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Vera (Shollenberger) Yeager. She worked as a sewing machine operator for Wright's Knitting Mill and other mills in the area. Doris enjoyed attending the Senior Center in Hamburg.
Doris is survived by two sons: Gerald A. Strausser, and his companion Debbie Gernert, Lenhartsville; and Ricky W. Strausser, and his wife Judy, Hamburg; two daughters: Sharon A. (Strausser) Hartz, Wyomissing; and Bonnie L. (Strausser), wife of George Hamm, Mohrsville; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her step-children: Charles Lehman, Jr., John Lehman, Ernest Lehman, Paul Lehman and Kerry Lehman, Susan Harrington, Patricia Moyer, Bonnie Shirey, and Donna Rudinsky; and a sister-in-law: Marian Yeager. Doris was predeceased by her husband Charles Lehman, a step-daughter: Elsie; one brother: Neil Yeager; and two sisters: Evelyn Graeff and Miriam Glass.
Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. A viewing will be held in the funeral home 9:00 to 10:00 am.
