Beatrice R.  Carson
Beatrice (Bea) Ridgway Carson of Oakford, Pennsylvania, passed on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the age of 95. She was born on September 5, 1920 to the late William and Alice (Hollowell) Ridgway. Beatrice had four siblings, Alice Ridgway, Richard Ridgway, Mary Emma (Ridgway) Thompkins, and William (Bill) Ridgway.

A native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Beatrice graduated from Lower Moreland High School in 1938, and Pierce Business School in 1940. Bea married Ralph E. Carson (deceased, March 19, 1983) on August 26, 1944. They were married for 39 years and had three children, Ralph E. Carson, Jr. (deceased, May 1999), Judith (Carson) Schreiber, and Barry B. Carson (deceased, May 2001).

Bea was an avid golfer, playing until the mature age of 90. She loved playing golf with anyone interested; she was blessed to enjoy the game with her sons, daughter, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and most importantly her golf friends. Bea would travel with golf friends during the winter months to Florida and Myrtle Beach. Her love for golf, knitting, bowling, and spending time with family and friends made her life complete and fulfilling. Throughout the years, she was known for her holiday traditions, as she would cook, bake, and give to the people she loved. Bea made a home filled of laughter, love, family and friends. In addition to her hobbies, she was a devoted Quaker at Middletown Friends Meeting House, Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith Schreiber; son-in-law, Richard Schreiber; daughter-in-law, Linda Carson; daughter-in-law, Paula Carson; five grandchildren and spouses (Jennifer and Arthur Handson; Michael and Pamela Carson, Jill and Christopher Speca; David and Stephanie Schreiber; Lauren and Josh Gerdes) and 10 great-grandchildren (Alivia and Arthur Handson; Mikayla, Emma, and Hannah Carson; Henry and Eloise Schreiber; Layten, Hayden, and Haisley Gerdes).

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 2:00 pm from Middletown Monthly Meetinghouse, Langhorne.

In lieu of flowers, spend time with family and friends; take a friend golfing, bowling, or teach someone to golf, bake, cook, sew and knit, as these were Beatrice’s passions.
