Obituary for James T. Troutman

James T. Troutman
James T. Troutman, 79, of Lower Heidelberg Twp., passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016 in ManorCare, Sinking Spring. He was the loving husband of Dolores M. "Lola" (Gutierrez) Troutman. They were married on April 1, 1972 and celebrated forty-four years of marriage.
Born in Laureldale on June 3, 1936, he was the son of the late John T. and Margaret M. (Dehart) Troutman. He was a 1954 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a graduate of Wyomissing Polytechnical Institute, now Penn State. James was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed by Textile Machine Works, presently Rockwell International, as an experimental tool and dye maker for thirty-nine years. James was also a certified locksmith.
He was a member of Goodwill Fire Company and beneficial association, Laureldale. James enjoyed snow skiing and water skiing; snow skiing in Europe, out West and Vermont and coordinating many trips for friends; and water skiing in the Poconos and locally on the Schuylkill River. He was a member of the ski patrol at the former Hahn Mountain, Kempton; and a former active member of the Flying Dutchman Ski Club. James also enjoyed boating and was a member of the Reading Boat Club. He loved his corvette. Jim especially loved his family and was always there for them. He was a wonderful grandfather and enjoyed attending all of Austin and Azure's activities.
Surviving in addition to his devoted wife Lola, are his two grandchildren: Austin V. and Azure S. Fernsler, and their father Anton D. Fernsler, of Lower Heidelberg Twp.; one sister: Joann (Troutman), wife of Garrett E. Hyneman, Riverview Park; God children and niece and nephew: Ashley and John Hyneman; and nephew: Justin Burk, who resides with Jim and Lola. Also surviving are the families of Reyes, Fernsler, Gutierrez, Hyneman, Burk, and DelGrosso. Jim was predeceased by his daughter: Deborah B. Fernsler, who died August 12, 2013.
Jim's family would like to thank the entire staff at Country Meadows, as well as the nurses, aides and staff at Manor Care, Sinking Spring, and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion given to him.
