Obituary for Harold G. Madeira

Harold G. Madeira, 90, of Riverview Park, Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016 in Country Meadows, Wyomissing. He was the husband of Ethel M. (Klee) Madeira. They were married on November 26, 1953 and celebrated sixty-two years of marriage.
Born in Shoemakersville, he was the son of the late Guy H. and Elda (Smith) Madeira. Harold was a graduate of Perry High School and Lebanon Valley College. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Harold worked as a cost accountant for sixteen years for Carpenter Steel. He then worked for nineteen years for NGK Metals Corporation, until retiring in 1985. Harold was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Shoemakersville. He was a board member and treasurer of Ebenezer Cemetery, Perry Twp.; a member of Vaux Lodge #406 F. & A.M., Hamburg; and a member of Blandon Lions Club and Blandon Senior Citizens.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one son: David L. Madeira, Riverview Park; one daughter: Deborah A. (Madeira), wife of Robert J. Dillane, Hershey; and two granddaughters. He was predeceased by a brother: Howard S. Madeira.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Salem United Methodist Church, 605 Main Street, Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held in the church Tuesday 10:30 to 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be sent to Salem United Methodist Church, at the above address.
