Mary A.  Adam (Sproesser)
Mary A. Adam, 88, of Perry Twp., passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at her residence. She was the wife of Lee S. Adam, who died April 16, 2015. They were married for sixty-five years at the time of his death.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Susan (Heiter) Sproesser. Mary was a graduate of Perry High School. She and her husband were in the restaurant business, in which she was the cook, from 1960-1978, first operating the Windsor Castle Hotel and then the West Hamburg Hotel. Mary was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. She enjoyed cooking, baking, word search and reading.
Mary is survived by three sons: Kerry L., husband of Elizabeth A. (Bowman) Adam, Pottsville; Dean A., husband of Rosanne R. (Hummel) Adam, Perry Twp., and Jamie L., husband of Rebecca (Carreon) Adam, Montoursville; seven grandchildren: April (Adam) Edmunds-Krumanocker, wife of Dean Krumanocker; Angela (Adam), wife of Matthew Folk; Corey Adam, and Benjamin, Nathan, Caleb, and Evan Adam; three great-grandchildren: Cassandra and Zachary Edmunds; and Collin Folk; and two step-great-granddaughters: Kaitlyn and Krista Krumanocker. She was predeceased by three siblings: Harry Sproesser, Pearl Hoffman and Frances Bower.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am from Zion's Church, 770 Zion's Church Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be held in the church Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Zion's Church at the above address.
