Obituary for Kirk K. Katerman

Kirk K. Katerman, 52, of Perry Twp., passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in his residence. He was the husband of Laurie (Leininger) Katerman. They were together for thirty-eight years since the age of fifteen.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Donald C. Katerman and Patricia A. (Miller) Barbera. Kirk attended Vo-Tech and was a certified welder. He worked as a welder for Dana Parish, Reading Tube, and Consolidated Containers. Kirk enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motocycle.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one son: Nathan D. Katerman, and his wife Shannon, New Ringgold; one daughter: Kia L. Katerman, Reading; and five grandchildren: Robert A. Baker, Katelyn C. Katerman, Dylan D. Katerman, Ethan Torres and Analise Torres. Kirk is also survived by one sister: Melody Breidenstein, Bernville; and his step-father: Phillip Barbera, Temple. He was predeceased by a brother: Gary Waid.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport, PA 19533. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Wednesday 10:30 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc, at the above address, to help the family with final expenses.
