Obituary for Larry K. Adams
Larry K. Adams, 62, of Perry Twp., passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Penny L. (Harris) Adams. They were married on June 3, 1978 and celebrated thirty-eight years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of Elmer M. Adams, Perry Twp.; and the late Shirley J. (Berger) Adams. Larry was a 1972 graduate of Hamburg Area High School and received an Associate's Degree from Pennsylvania State University. He also took classes at Albright College and Cornell University. Larry worked for thirty-six years in supervision and management positions for Dietrich's Milk Products, GEO Chemical, Allentown; and HP Hood, LaFargeville, New York. He received numerous certificates from the Manufacturers Association of Berks County for continuing education courses he took for food processing and chemicals to better himself in his field. Larry completed a course of instruction through the College of Agriculture Department of Food at Penn State for designing a sanitation program for the food industry. He received a Silver Achievement Award at the New York Fair for cottage cheese batching that he and his third shift crew put together. Larry enjoyed golfing with Pop Doug and his friends; playing cards with his wife and father; and loved the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Watertown, NY. In his youth, Larry played little league baseball and was a Boy Scout. He was also instrumentally inclined, playing the keyboards in the band, The Storm Bringers.
Surviving in addition to his wife and father are two daughters: Tammy L. Wertz, wife of Scott Wertz, Bernville; and Tiffany L. Burns, Laureldale; four grandchildren: Katelyn, Arianna, Alexis, and Baily; one brother: Lyle L. Adams, and his wife Jennifer, Perry Twp.; and two nephews: Logan and Brady. Larry was predeceased by a grandson: Darius.
He will be missed by his faithful companion: Bella.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
